About enterprise partnerships with shared accountability
We engage our community of experts — in education, design, strategy, planning, research, data and analytics — to help deliver near-term results and lasting transformation. All this is delivered within a business model that retains broad flexibility and choice for the provider with the benefits of a predictable, long-term payment structure. We offer a variety of business models and organizational structures to support specific health system goals. They range from modality-specific Managed Equipment Services (MES) agreements to the more comprehensive, innovation-focused Enterprise Partnerships and consortium models, such as Public-private Partnerships (PPP or P3) and Design/Build/Manage/Finance (DBFM). Options are highly customizable, based on the needs of the health system.
An enterprise partnership engagement with Philips is a comprehensive, end-to-end service solution, enabled by specific business models and aligned to the strategic initiatives and operational objectives of our customer. Within this collaborative framework, we work side by side with our partner institutions over the long term to help them manage complexity, reduce costs, mitigate risk and advance innovation.

Business framework The flexible, predictable, sustainable business models that makes it possible, such as Managed Services or pay-per-use arrangements, seasonally adjusted payment structures, and consortium models.
Core competencies The technology management services and operational expertise that inform technology strategy, guide on-site execution and deliver continual performance improvement.
Operating model The ‘share-everything’ organizing structure that guides the way we work, from executive-level cooperation to shared working groups and project teams.
Enabling resources Philips’ vast ecosystem of technology solutions, clinical innovation resources, and service capabilities that power clinical excellence and help transform care delivery.
Predictability you can lean on and leap from. The reality of balancing competing priorities shouldn’t be a reason to put transformation on hold; it should be a reason to accelerate it. A strategic path, flexible business model and predictable financial model can bring you into current state while you get ready to leap ahead.
Scope of engagement The scope of each partnership can include a wide range of services and support to transfer non-core functional activities and risk away from the hospital, including technology, services, operations, innovation and financing. Programs can be easily scaled to manage multi-vendor technology in specific service lines or across the care delivery system.
Financial structure Investments and lifecycle costs can be consolidated into a structured payment for stable, predictable capital planning, operating expenditures and cash flows.
Risk mitigation We offer performance- and risk-based incentive structures tied to clinical, operational and financial outcomes to promote shared risk and mutual accountability.
Length of term Enterprise partnerships typically range from 8- to 15-year terms, leveraging a flexible, comprehensive technology-as-a-service model that can provide increased visibility and operational flexibility to management.
At the most fundamental level, with the Philips alliance there are no surprises—we know what we’re getting, and we are controlling the factors that can upend our stability.”

There is power in a shared vision. If you ground that power in an organizing structure that promotes collaboration and accountability and then share it across multidisciplinary teams, you can build a mutual trust and performance culture that ensures the way you work is as dynamic and sustainable as the results you deliver. That’s the way we operate.
Embedded resources are dedicated to improving the performance and care delivery of your organization, and are staffed by professionals from a range of disciplines and functions, including technology, services, operations, program management, finance and innovation.
Through an integrated governance and operating structure, we strive for continued alignment across the scope of the partnership. Formal oversight from senior leaders from both Philips and the hospital ensures both parties are performing according to the goals and terms of the agreement.
Together, we are working to keep the Hudson Valley healthy through a model that supports innovation and transformation in a value-driven environment.”
